Epigram
Formed in the spring of 2007 in Toronto, Epigram came together when Matt Barr (drums), Andrew Eyles (bass), and Brad Deschamps (guitar) were in search of a second guitarist and met Jamie Jones. With Jones completing the line-up, things were immediately set in motion. Drawing upon influences like Mogwai, the Cure, and …Trail of Dead, they began writing instrumental music with these bands (and several more) in mind.\r

The band played its first show that summer with notable Boston post-rock bands Caspian and Junius, followed by several shows in Toronto and southern Ontario with the likes of Nadja, Holoscene, and Proeliis Fere. Epigram’s melodic, experimental sound and engaging live performances, often featuring violinist Julie Lee, established them a solid fan base that continues to grow.\r
