“When you hear Mozart played like this you realize how superficial the majority of other interpretations are”, as Gramophone magazine wrote about English pianist Clifford Curzon’s recordings of Mozart piano concertos made for the Decca label between 1967 and 1970. The programme included concertos numbers 20, 23, 24, 26 and 27 – but not number 21 in C major! Claves Records is pleased to be able to fill this “lacuna” with the release of a live recording of the celebrated concerto Köchel number 467 in the “Digital Only” series. The disciple of Arthur Schnabel and Wanda Landowska shared the stage at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Armin Jordan in a recording made by Radio Suisse Romande in June 1980.
