Alfred Orlando “Al” Johnson Jr. formed the Unifics in the 1960’s and was lead vocalist on their hits “The Court Of Love” and “The Beginning Of My End. The 1970’s Al worked with renowned producer Norman Connors and provided guest vocals on Norman Connors hit “Take It To The Limit and “Back For More”. The title cut from the album “Back For More”, was a duet with Jean Carne that has gone on to become a soul music classic. Al spent most of the 80’s & 90’s continuing to provide session help for other artist including the Whispers, Roberta Flack, and Pebo Bryson. Al Johnson & Derrick Doc Pearson started recording together in the 1980’s and continued recording together for 19 years. Al continued working into the 21st century ...
