Brookes, Jones & Company consists of songwriter/flutist Bernard Brookes, and vocalist/songwriter Laurel Jones. Our music unlocks the door to your joy with Caribbean rhythms and soulful Jazz, led by flute and voice. Poetic lyrics sing authentically about life, love, the Spirit, society and nature on our CD called “Speak Peace, Breathe Life.”
Bernard was born on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts and lived there until age 12. Calypso rhythms and lyrics were his earliest musical influences. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in flute and composition. He is also a psychologist and author of two books: 1) I Am With You Always: Living by Faith in the 21st Century and 2) God, Self & Community: Revelation, Testimony & Practice. He has written more than 50 songs and released 4 solo CDs.
