Hooked Like Helen is a Cleveland-based pop/alternative duo comprised of Jonathan and Nikki Stipp. The couple established the project in the summer of 2013, shortly after getting married and leaving LA for the peace and beauty of Northeastern Ohio. HLH combines elements of pop, electronic, and alternative rock - and lots of twinkling harmonies and driving drums - to create their unique sound. The duo frequently collaborates with old and new friends from both coasts to keep things fresh and ever-evolving. Nikki's heartfelt vocals weave through Jon's melodic bass lines fluidly, inspired by honest reflection and a slightly sad world view. Though HLH often delves into some rather dark subject matter, the pop sensibility remains constant and truly a sound to enjoy!
