The Language of the Heart
I’ve been playing flutes and recorders since I was ten years old. I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1976 to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. For the last 18 years I’ve been living in Sedona, Arizona.
Alexander (the keyboard player, co-composer, and co-producer on this album) and I first played together in 1995, and felt an instant connection. One of the tracks from our first musical interaction, #10, A Galaxy Far Away, is included here. In fact, with three exceptions, all of the tracks on the album are improvised in the moment, live in the studio. It’s a conversation. The intent is for music that opens the heart and soothes the spirit.
For some reason it took me almost a half century to record my first album – and here it is…
