The Scamps get together in Brooklyn, down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass to practice. Drums, bass, a guitar and keys set up in the empty wood shop where Lisa builds electric bases during the day. The lights are low and the band can’t help kick up wood dust on the shop floor.
The Scamps are not your typical four piece rock band. Lisa’s guitar tone conjures up dusty blues while Emily’s keys keep you dancing. Playing as a duo in 2006, the girls stumbled upon their rhythm section: Kevin’s hip hop inspired drums and Matthew’s heavy, steady bass complete The Scamps hootenanny. With no budget and a few shoe strings, the four top has put together their first full length, self titled-album.
