Accelerator (Explicit)
Finally seeing an album release some 37 years after the bands original inception, here is “Accelerator” from Scottish punk rock group Reaction.
Reaction formed in Airdrie (equidistant between Glasgow and Edinburgh give or take a few miles) in 1978 as a school band. The band were led by singer Ian Carson and drummer John Bryson. They’d started the band after hanging out with current guitarist Joe Whyte’s similarly teenage school punk band End Result and realising that the DIY spirit of punk rock as voiced by Sniffin’ Glue’s Mark P was a reality.
“Here are three chords. Now go form a band”
The original Reaction was a feisty, energetic mob who were as renowned for their chaotic behaviour and venue bans as they ever were for their music. They split, reformed and split again several times over the years, finally calling it a day in 1982.
As Carson put it, “The only thing that followed Reaction was trouble!”
