Spring, Sprang, Sprung
From 1982 to 2010 Jim played drums for Cleo Laine’s U.S. based band. His compositions were used in her performances all over the world. The rest her trio was (and is on this recording) Larry Dunlap on piano and Seward McCain on bass.
Based in San Francisco, Jim worked and toured with Vince Guaraldi, Cleo Laine and Dianne Schuur. He is currently working on compositions for vibraphone.
Jim's recording credits include Vince Guaraldi's "Peanuts" specials, David Byrne's "True Stories", "Rumblefish", Robin William's movie "Bicentennial Man", and the four albums with Cleo Laine including the Grammy winner “Live At Carnegie Hall.” He has also recorded and played with Toots Thielmans, Joe Williams, Jerry Mulligan, Art Pepper and Blue Mitchell.
