This score is the breakthrough musical experiment in sweeping orchestral timbres and African tribal vocals. Director Wayne P. Allen approached Mark Edward Lewis, the composer, and suggested that an African vocal sound might be a fitting complement to the stunning visuals of millions of butterflies flittering about the screen. Upon reflection, Mr. Lewis realized that the merging of an African flavor with his unwavering ability to create powerfully emotional orchestral music was a temptation that he couldn't resist.
