Based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, André Rodriguez is one of the premier indie-alternative songwriters in the Midwest. The Somewhere New album is a rich display of songwriting in the indie-rock genre. Produced by Minneapolis' Luke Fredrickson, the new disc also features guest appearances by André's brother, Dan Rodriguez and Breanne Düren of Owl City.
Rooted in thoughtful lyrics, the songs examine an array of life experiences. The record opens up with stories of love and lost love but quickly move into a reflective consideration of broken dreams, change, and hope. The melodies are invitingly simple and conversational, allowing the audience to soak in each word.
