Thulani Mangona was born in King Williams Town, Eastern Cape, where he spent his early childhood years. The elder son of Ntombolundi and Mnikeli Mangona. He was born in the family of four boys. Coming from a well-grounded family, he was taught from a young age to stand for him self and not to depend on his parents’ success. At age seven, he was already leading a church choir in his hometown. In his high school days, he was brave enough to lead in song during morning prayers. At age sixteen his burning passion for music was spotted by the legendary music producer Sizwe Zako to form a gospel boy band with Lundi Tyamara. The project did not take off due to school commitments, which at the time were highly prioritized by his family.
