Slumber, Savage Beasts
The album is a mixture of raw and layered post-rock. The 5 tracks that make the EP are based around a Haiku. Tracks 1 3 and 5 are the actual haiku while 2 and 4 are caesuras. Because of the format the music also set to flow this way. The haiku tracks are a live band tracked together in a room (strings and minimal pad layering actually were added later). I wanted the band dynamics and flow to come from a drummer at his kit and the melodies I was playing on my guitar. The caesuras are compositions I "painted" like a picture with recording and layering techniques. The result is a work of music that will ebbs and flows from demanding your attention to letting you drift.
